Hey everyone!


Yeah, I know it's been a while. The cobwebs have built up, and the crickets have set in, and no one comes here that much any more. But have faith! We have not forgotten you! We are working hard on Absolution, but we still have many plans for this. Our goal is to have as much stuff as we can.

One of the things we like to do is enter contests. It's free money! Well, one contest we like is the Gibson Guitar contests. We entered the last one, and didn't quite make it, but we are trying again, and we hope it will go better this time.

MIA --- News

So...yes. It's been a little while since we've updated ColdShoulder.org. But this is all for good! We are hard at work on the latest ColdShoulder Production, Absolution. This is the biggest thing we've ever done, and it's pushing us to our limits in every way. I can really see how every other small project we've done has just been a build up to this. From the audio techniques I learned during editing the second Mr. Mason video, to the color correction I learned in Revenge, and the lighting techniques I learned with the first Mr. Mason. We are even learning new things with this production, like we are learning how to do special effects, (those gun shots to make themselves), how to plan a two week long shoot, so that the people you are working with don't kill you out of frustration, and how to build up hype, realese information, and how to do marketing. It's been a long road, and we still have a ways to go, but every step has been worth it, and I can't wait to get to the end.

...So, that's what I'm doing. And that's why this place is gonna be a little quiet. But, why not come over to AbsolutionTV.com. Big things are happening there.

The Return of Mr. Mason! --- Movies

Mr. Mason, our hero from Ation Nation, is back! And this time he's trying to sell...nothing?

We had Stephen over again, (this is getting to be a regular occurrence ) and we were trying to think of something to film. Well, Stephen came up with the phrase Marketed Marketing, and that gave me the idea for this video. I quickly wrote it down, and we filmed it.

Drip --- Movies

Last Thursday, Stephen came over and we shot a couple of short films. This first one, titled "Drip", is a no-words story about a man and a wall.

Cheap Ivory - 01 --- Music

A couple of weeks ago, I got some free sequencing software, and from that, produced a 10-track album.

The album has no vocals; it was pretty much just a test of what can be done with sequencing.

So, here it is, the first album from Cheap Ivory, titled 01. And it's free for you all to enjoy. So, leave me a comment on what you think.

A sign of things to come. --- News, Podcast, Absolution

So, the first promo for Absolution goes up tonight at midnight. I'm not sure if any of you will see this before it goes up, or even be up then, but if you are, you should check it out.

I was talking with my dad, and I'm kinda interested to resurrect the podcast. I think it'd be a good place to talk about some stuff regarding Absolution, movies we've been watching (of which there are many) and music we've been listening too (I still wanna do that review of I'm Only A Man, and I wanna talk about Narrow Stairs, which BTW is really good. Just sayin'.)

But! I might do a video (gasp!) podcast instead. Just because I really like editing video, and I think it'd be cool.

But then again, I don't like being on camera.

Oh well.

Not a loss, a transition. --- Absolution

So! The cat is out of the bag, (sorta). We are working on an internet television series called Absolution.We will be releasing these Before The Spread's or BTS's that tell more about what the show is.

But, because I'm trying to keep everything centralized for the show, I'm not going to post the episodes on coldshoulder.org.

"What!" you cry, "why not?"

Well, I want to build this AbsolutionTv.com site as the central hub for all things Absolution. But! I will post on coldshoulder when I put something up.

Just like now! The second episode of Before The Spread is up, and this time we ask: "Who are the Characters?"

What Is Absolution? --- Absolution

We are gonna have more videos up explaining more about absolution. This is just the first one in the series.

Could You Think of That Many Words? --- Movies

So, we made another video. This new Canon HV20 is amazing. The quality is really good. For this video we had the idea to see how many words we could come up with that ended in tion. We came up with a list that was over a hundred words! So, we made a story where every line ends in a tion word.

We decided to do it in the style of a news cast.

HV Stands for Heaven. --- Movies

For the last few months Micah has been saving up all his pennies to buy a new camera. He searched high and low, and finally found an HD camera at sub-$1000 prices. The one he found was the Canon HV20. It shoots 1080i, at 24p, and it is amazing.

Last night we did some test footage, but it was really dark by the time we shot, so the quality isn't as good as it could be.

We were in a field, Micah, Steven Kuhl, Diego Rivera and myself were there, and they brought bow staffs, so we shot a video of them sparing.




We just shot with no real plan in mind, so it's not really that deep. But it is a cool little test. Expect more soon. Also! I am working on getting a video together about Absolution, so be on the look out for that.
